41 AUCTIONING PILLS

The wide man, Gav, moved toward Daren on the stone ring, a spark of dust falling from his stony hands. Despite the weight of the stone hands and head, he moved with surprising agility. With his head and hands transformed into crude stone slabs, he looked more like a clown than a menacing warrior.

"Watch out, Daren." Samantha pressed against the edge of the ring, her knuckles whitening, but Mother Faya gripped her shoulder firmly, stopping her from interfering.

"The other guy needs it more." Snorting, Daren punched with his right hand while channeling mana through his Crystal Body. The familiar cold burn of power flowed through his arm, like ice water rushing beneath his skin.

With his current Realm of Harmony in Soldier Class, he couldn't fully utilize the power of his body. But once he took the Mana-Vine-Fruit Pill, this punch would be twice as strong because he would be entering the Foundation stage.

Power rippled through his muscles as their fists met with a crack like breaking stone.

Gav smirked. He must have been thinking Daren would pay for the direct attack. Only a fool thought in that direction.

A shockwave passed through Daren's hand. A layer of crystal cracked on his arm, speeding toward his chest. The crystal pieces shattered, exposing a chunk of his bare flesh. The pain was sharp but familiar.

If he’d been in Foundation stage, he could have forged his other ribs and even muscles. And with the Serum of Speed, his speed would triple as well—a thought that made his lips curl into a slight smile. Anyway, it wasn't as bad as he thought. The power of his body surprised even him.

"You're no match for my Spell Circle, Daren Morin. I'll break your…" Gav gulped his words as a layer of stones and dust fell from his arms, pattering onto the ring floor like heavy rain.

"Were you saying something?" Daren cupped his left ear as if trying to hear whispers.

Gav's face darkened. He had realized the issue. Without stone affinity in his second Spell Circle, he had tried to turn three parts of his body into stone, and it had cost him dearly.

"I…" Gav stepped back.

Daren performed a roundhouse kick toward Gav's waist, his body moving with fluid power. Gav tried to bring his hand in between him and the kick, but more stones fell down as his fists shattered, crumbling like dried clay. The kick landed on his gut and sent him stumbling away. Gav tried to stop his descent with his stone hands, but that increased the dissipation of his stone skin. His feet scraped desperately against the stone ring, leaving shallow furrows.

"Fool, break your Spell Circle. If you overdraw on it, you will lose your arms!" Waqi shouted from outside of the battle ring, her jaw clenching as she grabbed the ward stone of the ring.

Smirking, Daren tiptoed and launched a knee kick toward Gav's face. The guy had overdrawn his mana, and his stone skin was fading like cracked mortar. If he didn't withdraw his spell and Daren broke his stone skin, he might lose his head.
